The BDP

by Simon

Like any small business owner will tell you, corporate tax deductable toys are your legislative right. It gives you an excuse to splurge those hard earned pretax company dollars on gadgets you personally don’t particularly need or can afford. It also silences that annoying little retail therapy demon that sits on your right shoulder, who I swear is on commission.

So what is a BDP? If you haven’t already guessed, it’s an acronym for “Big Dirty Plasma”. Why so big and why so dirty? Well besides my obvious intentions to stream terabytes of media to it after business hours we do actually have a legitimate use for it! The intent is to use it for inhouse training on our backend web systems. Almost every DogHouse website is run by a content management system which allows clients to update and manage their web application from an easy to use administration interface.

I’m actually yet to plug the damn thing in and I can’t imagine it’ll get much use before the year is out, however I decided to grab one sooner rather than later since the falling Australian dollar has already started to boost the price slightly.

What is it? It’s an LG HD 1080p 50inch

Where did I buy it? The good guys in O’conner

Did it fit into your mother's 4wd? No

How much was it? More than Pedro, our spanish house boy costs a month

Was it a good deal? Sure, costs more on ebay

So if you're ever in need of a quick media fix, drop in, grab a couch and enjoy some high def warez on us.
